Our School

Greenbank Middle School was founded in 1968. It is an intermediate school located in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, and has a history of academic achievement and community service. The school is positioned on a large property adjacent to serviced parkland which offers our students access to soccer pitches, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and a community rink.

We offer both French Immersion programs (Early and Middle French Immersion). In addition, we offer the Congregated Gifted French Immersion program, Regular English program, a System Learning Disabilities program, an integrated special education delivery model, and support for our English language learners.

Our Greenbank Middle School families represent a number of local communities (Arlington Estates, Arlington Woods, Briargreen, Bruce Farm, Cedarhill Estates, Centrepointe, Leslie Park, Manordale, Orchard Estates, Sheahan Estates, Trend Village, Qualicum), all adding to the strength and diversity of our student body. Upon completion of grade 8, most of our students attend Sir Robert Borden High School. Our four feeder schools are Knoxdale Public School, Manordale Public School, Leslie Park Public School, and Briargreen Public School.

Greenbank Middle School students represent a culturally rich community, and celebrate a variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Greenbank Middle School has an enrollment of 345 students representing a diverse heritage and 88 countries of origin.
